Case Study - Reproduction

romanov (15K)

This ice piece 'The Russian Royal Romanov Crest' was commissioned by one of Scotlands premiere museums. The reproduction shown in ice was created from a single image provided and shown here to the right in gold.

The piece took just over a day to make and stood 1.4 metres tall. This truly impressive piece when placed upon the 3ft tall base provided peaking at over 7ft tall. We estimate that it displaced in excess of 25 stone.

Case Study - Reproduction

bikes (13K)

This motorcycle ice carving was actually provided for a wedding but is worth showing here because of the true to life pictures captured after setting the ice sculpture up.

The motor bike was reproduced from two photographs
-completely hand carved- and provided a stunning wedding centrepiece (and surprise for the groom) which easily lasted for the length of the event.

Case Study - Laminate

laminate (9K)

In order to provide a full colour laminate embedded in ice- a large image (in this case a crest) was requested which was then sent to our printers. The crest we attached it to a sheet of perspex which was then cut to size. The perspex complete with crest was then frozen within the ice and carved upon removal from the block maker into the shape required.

Ice statues such as this have a fantastic lasting time since most of the detail is contained within the image.

Case Study - Exhibitions

exhibition (12K)

Exhibitions are vibrant environments- full of exhibitors passionate about their products. Buyers attending exhibitions are the key to success and no matter how good or different your product may be, unless they see what you have to offer, they will pass you by. I know it's a cliche- but it's a cliche for a reason- 'break the ice' by offering your product frozen inside a block of ice.

The advantages are: it'll be there all day, it'll be a talking point, a point of interest, a point of amusement, something different, they'll touch it just to check it isn't glass and be surprised that it's cold- who cares as long as it draws people to your display and gives an oportunity for you to tell them just how good your product is.

This simple ice piece was ordered by a company that needed particular roses on display months after they would normally be in bloom. We simply froze the whole bush and delivered it suspended in ice and perfectly preserved at the time requested- way after these flowers would normally have perished.
